HEDON CHRISTMAS LIGHTS switch-on will provide an opportunity to get a glimpse at a new business that is starting up at the former Taste delicatessen on Market Place.

The Potters Cabin will be a place where pottery painting events can happen. The core business involves customers being able to choose and pay for unpainted pottery items; they can then paint it to their own design and The Potters Cabin will glaze and fire it for a studio fee.

Chris Phillips who is behind the new venture will encourage people to book pottery painting partiesThe Potters Cabin will be able to arrange a pottery painting party as a special event, perhaps to celebrate a birthday, an anniversary – or Christmas perhaps! Such parties could obviously turn a ladies night or baby-shower event into a unique special occasion.

The Potters Cabin will have a preview opening during the Hedon Christmas lights. Chris explains: “The plan on Friday is just to let everyone know that we are coming and to offer take out coffee and cake as well as give visitors the opportunity to see what is involved and paint an item if they so wish and book a pottery painting party.”

Chris, who is a retiring teacher from South Holderness School, says that she will be responsible for managing the new business, but on Friday she will be supported by both her son and daughter and their families making it a real family occasion.

So – if you’re coming to Hedon Christmas Lights – pop in to The Potters Cabin at 14 Market Place, Hedon and find out what’s going on!
