LATEST PHOTOS from Jim Lindop: “Twyers drain and sluice into Burstwick drain, this morning 10am, the drain is up approx. 2 foot from yesterday 11am.”

RIVER LEVELS in the area have risen during the last 24 hours prompting flood-risk fears. Residents should be aware of the sources of information and advice available. The Humberside Fire & Rescue Service have issued a press release saying that they have attended hundreds of call-outs to do with flooding issues (across Humberside, not locally). The Environment Agency have issued a general flood alert for the Holderness area, but not specifically for Hedon. But residents concerned with the heightened flooding risk should listen to the local radio and visit the Environment Agency website for further relevant information. It would be useful if those able to keep an eye on the river levels could share this information on the Hedon Blog.
