ON NOVEMBER 1st each year thousands of men get a clean shave – and then do everything they can to encourage their facial hair to grow! The unofficial aim is to grow the best moustaches that the world has ever seen until the end of November!
This is called Movember and it all takes place for good causes which include raising funds and awareness of men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and male cancers.
Regulars at The Shakespeare have certainly got into the spirit of Movember! Its Facebook Page is full of pictures of proud sprouting moustaches! The Pub is offering a prize for the best offering at the end of the month – “a sash for the best tashe!”
It obviously does have its downfalls taking part in Movember – the froth from your beer just sticks to your moustache!
Good luck to the Shaky Movember crowd – we look forward to the final hairy results on Friday 30th November and the ‘shaving off’ on Saturday 1st December 2012 at 5:00pm!
