Race Night to support cricket project

THE CRICKET CLUB is holding a Race Night at their Middle Lane Clubhouse on Friday 4th June 2010 from 6:30pm until late.

Racing for... cricket!

There will be 8 races with the winner of each going into a 9th auction race. There are 8 horses per race, you can “buy” a horse for £2, the winner of the race will receive £5 prize money.

The proceeds from the event will help to raise funds for the South Holderness Cricket Club ‘artificial wicket’ planned for installation later in the season.

Mike Oliver, the Chairman of the Club’s Junior Committee, has successfully obtained a grant from the Lords Taverners for £3,000 for the project. They have also received a generous donation from the Hedon Haven Trust for £1,000. That leaves them with £5000 to raise.

If you are a local business and want to sponsor the event – or the project – then your support is very much welcomed by the Club (see their website).

You can find information about the event, including downloading Race Cards, at the South Holderness Cricket Club website Race Night page.
