Tell the world about your event!

THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE now expect to find out information ‘on demand’ through searching for it on the internet.

Most major national public and community event organisers aim to reach the widest possible audience by promoting that event through various online methods; e-mail, website, social networking (Facebook, Twitter), etc. They realise that if the people you want to reach with your information (particularly younger people under 40) are online, then efforts need to be made to get your information read or viewed by them on their own computer screens.

On a local level, organisers of public events tend to overlook the internet assuming that promotion via that means is beyond their abilities or they don’t have the technology or budget available.

Of course advertising your event on the internet (via the Hedon Blog) is quick, easy and FREE. And above all it works! Local Hedon people have seen events on the Blog or its Facebook page and have booked or attended!

The Hedon Blog can promote your public or community event and get it viewed by people in the town and surrounding areas who might not otherwise see your posters or notices.”

You can do this by simply e-mailing a copy of your leaflet, flyer or poster to hedonblog@gmx.com putting What’s On in the subject line.

You can also leave a comment about your event anywhere on the blog (it does not publish straight away, but sent to the Blog for consideration first) or post your text through Psst! Got a Hedon News Tip?

If you have not got a ‘polished’ poster then just send your raw text (don’t worry about text and grammar!) and the Hedon Blog will turn it into an article. Or you can use the simple online form.

The Hedon Blog currently gets around 150-200 viewings every day from mainly local people (although we have visitors from the rest of the UK and internationally too!). That number is growing every month.

Please spread this message about this free community service to others in the Hedon, Paull and Preston area.
