INMAN’S ROAD IN HEDON will be closed to traffic for at least two weeks from 29th March to 2nd April 2010.

During this time Bus Services 78, 79 and 277 that normally run down Inman’s Road will be diverted via St Nicholas Gate and Acklam Road and will not be able to serve Inman’s Road or St Mary’s Drive.  If you normally board or alight the bus here please use an alternative stop.  The nearest stop is Thorn Road corner.

The dates are estimated. Normal bus services will not be resumed until the works are completed.

  1. Elderly Hedon bus users of Brevere Road have been badly let down by the decision of East Yorkshire Motor Services to stop the bus route from Brevere Road whilst sewerage work is carried out on Inmans Road between numbers 27 and 29 which is near to the school, without providing a suitable alternative.

EYMS say that the only stop during the expected fortnights work will be at Johnsons Corner. Can they expect elderly people to walk 0.7 miles (Google’s Figures) to catch a bus into town when there are obvious ways of providing a service for Brevere without going anywhere near the expected excavations by taking the suggested route as follows:

… Aclam Road, St Mary’s Drive, Brevere Road, Magdalen Road, Watson’s Drive,Fewson Garth,Left onto Inmans Road,Brevere Road, St Mary’s Drive, Aclam, and onto Johnson’s Corner.

  2. Hi Sarah – If you have any questions about the roadworks mentioned above, give BusCall a ring on 01482 22 22 22. They’re open 8am until 8pm, 7 days a week. They can let you know the latest situation on the roads, tell you where your nearest bus stop can be found, and suggest ways to make your journey easier.
