BOBBY DIAMOND has been doing the local pubs circuit for many years now and sings a variety of Rock & Roll hits . However he is best known by his fans – although not his own words – as “Black Elvis”

THE KING’S HEAD, Souttergate, Hedon is hosting a charity day for the Dove House Hospice on Spring Bank Holiday Monday, 2nd May from 2pm – midnight.
A disco, karaoke, barbecue and raffle will be on offer at the pub.

POLICE ARE APPEALING for witnesses following two assaults which took place at the King’s Head Public House, Hedon on Saturday 9th April 2011.
The first assault took place at 12:40am when a 19-year-old man was walking into the beer garden at the rear of the pub when he was involved in a verbal altercation with another man. The man then allegedly assaulted the victim. A woman is then said to have also assaulted the victim.
The victim sustained a laceration to his head and swelling and bruising as a result of the assault.
A 24-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The second assault took place at 12:45am. A 30-year-old man was stood in the beer garden at the rear of the pub when he was allegedly punched in the face by another man causing him to fall to the floor. He was then punched several more times whilst on the floor.
As a result of the incident the victim suffered severed tendons in his hand which have required extensive surgery.
Detectives investigating the two assaults are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed either incident to come forward to assist with inquiries.

The Station hosts a Christmas Carols – with a difference on Wednesday 22nd December, while Christmas Karaoke is on offer at the King’s Head on Christmas Eve.
Meanwhile, a traditional Christmas Carol Service will take place on Christmas Eve at the Alexandra Hall.
THE KING’S HEAD, Hedon is organising a Karaoke Competition with its resident DJ Marky Mark. Heat 1 of “The K Factor” commences in Janaury 2011.
The pub is taking down names now so if you would like to enter, pop into The Kings Head, and register during normal business hours or you can register with Marky Mark during his normal Karaoke nights (Fridays from 7pm and Sundays from 5pm).
