The Yorkshire Water Smells – Wall of Shame!

THE DAY OF ACTION on Saturday 3rd September 2011 at 9:00am at Paull Car Boot Sale and 12:00 high-noon at Hedon Market Place will provide a quick opportunity for people to show their opposition to the foul smells that have occasionally – but persistently – dogged local communities over the last 11 years!

As well as meeting our campaign mascot PONGO – those attending and passing-by will have an opportunity to sign a petition or complete a Post-It note to add to the Wall of Shame.

The Wall of Shame aims to record local experiences of the smells and will be kept as a permanent record revealing how people felt about the stench when it affected their lives – and how it affected their lives. A copy of the Wall of Shame – including a list of each and every comment – will be sent to Yorkshire Water.

You can add your comment to the Wall of Shame now – just click the link!

UPDATE: The ONLINE PETITION has now been signed by over 1,000 people – a similar number of people are expected to have signed paper versions of the petition.

Pongo – because we want the Pong to go!

THE POLL TO NAME our campaigning Skunk mascot ended yesterday.

By far the most popular answer – with 17 of the 33 votes cast – was:

Pongo (because we want the Pong to go!)

Pongo will now be making guest appearances at our events to stop foul smells from Yorkshire Water’s Waste Water Treatment Works at Saltend.

Pongo has been created by residents in Paull.
