PLANS TO DEVELOP WIND FARMS off the East Yorkshire coast were first announced by the Government’s Crown Estate in January 2010. Those plans take a step closer with the announcement of consultation events on the first part of the project planning.

A consultation event open to all members of the public will take place at the Hedon Methodist Church on Friday 15th April 2011, from 2pm – 8pm.

SMart Wind Ltd, the consortium behind the wind farm developments, intend construction to begin by 2014.  The Statement of Community Consultation is available from the SMart Wind website.

Micro-chipping your dog!

DOES YOUR DOG need micro-chipping? Would your pet benefit from an identity tag?

Millions of dogs become lost each year. Many lost dogs end up in shelters where, if unclaimed, they will be re-housed to new homes or even put down. Collars and tags are essential, but they can fall off or become damaged. Technology has made it possible to equip your pet with a microchip for permanent identification, and is an effective way of linking dogs with their owners.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council dog wardens will be available on Friday, 3rd December 2010, from 9:30am – 12:30pm to answer questions about these and other “dog issues” at the Hedon Methodist Church.

No appointment necessary.

Find out more at The Animal Wardens on the East Riding of Yorkshire Council website.
