Be vigilant after recent burglaries!

A SPATE OF BURGLARIES in the town should remind local residents to remain vigilant.

The Humberside Police website for the area reports that there have been at least four house burglaries in Hedon this month with at least two more taking place over the last weekend.

If you have seen or heard anything about these crimes you should contact the police on 0845 60 60 60. NOTE: A 0845 number is a ‘non-geographic number’ but these can be charged at up to 5 pence per minute and much more from mobile phones. For other ways to contact the police see the Humberside Police website.

In an emergency you should always call 999. An emergency is when a crime is happening, when someone suspected of a crime is nearby or when someone is injured, threatened or in danger.

Residents worried about burglary should consider their home security. Look at your house through a burglar’s eyes – 1. Does it look occupied? 2. Can you imagine a way to break in without being seen?  If you can then the chances are a burglar will too!
