Tell us about YOUR Local Events!

THE WHAT’S ON PAGE lists local events and deadlines and remains one of the Hedon Blog’s (and HU12 Online’s) most popular pages.

If you have a public event, entertainment, activity or fundraising event taking place in the town that you want to advertise, then we can do an article or notice about it and list it on the WHAT’S ON page. This is a FREE service.

Use this opportunity to tell us about your Halloween and Bonfire Night events. Complete the quick and easy online form on the page.

Visit: www.hu12.net/whats-on

NOTE: We will soon be launching a new PROMOTIONS SERVICE which for a small charge (approx £10) will see your event being specially promoted across the internet and social networks. More on this soon. For details of the new service prior to launch, contact hu12@gmx.com.

HU12 Letters Page

THE HEDON BLOG is always encouraging its readers to get in touch with their latest news, information and opinions on local stories. However, up until now, if you wanted to ‘Have Your Say’ directly on the website, then you had to do it as a Comment in response to a previously published article. That has changed from today.

The HU12 Letters Page will allow readers to raise the issues of the day and initiate the discussion and debate. You can easily register and start writing comments on the Letters Page within minutes. You can opt to do a ‘Status Update’ like on Facebook, or a more substantial ‘Blog Post’.

You can upload images and documents to share and generally comment as you like. But we hope that readers will use the new facility as intended – much like in the ‘olden days’ you used to write a letter to the newspaper.

Please try the out the letters page – let us know if you have any problems. And please use the service with respect and courtesy.

Find HU12 Letters Page at the top menu of Hedon Blog or HU12 Online.

The Station, Hedon – Online!

THE STATION on Souttergate, Hedon is the latest Hedon pub to get on the World Wide Web.

Follow www.stationhedon.com to get to the website where you can find everything you need to know about the place. You can find out about what’s planned at the pub including a calendar of events; you can have a look at an online menu; you see what real ales are sold.

You can even give mine hosts Carl and Jackie your own ideas on making the pub a better place.

The pub has also set up on Facebook and Twitter which you can access by clicking the symbols at the top of the page (hover over them at the top of the page and watch them pop up).

In February 2009 the Hedon Blogger complained about the lack of local pubs that were online in the town – and how you couldn’t Browse to your local online pubs. How things have changed! Most local pubs now have a website or Facebook Page at the very least – see some on our Business Page, Pubs category.
