NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICEMAN Bob Pyle is reminding motorists to remove any valuable items from view when leaving their vehicles unattended. They should also leave their vehicles secure and locked, even when parking at their home address.
The advice was given by PC Pyle at last night’s Hedon Town Council meeting and comes following a number of thefts from cars in the town during November 2012.
A ‘sat nav’ was taken from an insecure car parked on a roadside in Haymer Drive in the Bond Street area. In a similar incident in the same area a Mini Cooper which was parked on a driveway was broken in to and a laptop and sunglasses were taken.
A vehicle was targeted in Alured Garth and a stereo system was taken. In addition to this, a car in Clough Garth was broken into and a camera and keys were stolen.
“Please ensure cars are locked and valuable items are removed from view or removed from the vehicle entirely.” - Pc Bob Pyle
