AJ’s BARBER SHOP is now open for those wanting a haircut at 28 Baxtergate, Hedon – just down the road from the Shakespeare Inn.
Whilst the new business is certainly conveniently located for those to the east of Hedon, this was not the case last weekend when Baxtergate was flooded out when a water mains burst – and just outside AJ’s!
The road was cordoned off and engineers were soon digging up the road to sort the problem off, but it did affect the important passing trade so important to the new business.
AJ’s is one of the new businesses along with Hedon Inks & Toners, and Cinderella, that has opened in the last month and represents a welcome sign that business life is returning to Hedon’s shops, following tougher times and a spate of empty commercial properties.
And for those of you who like to know the background to business names: – AJ’s is affectionately named after proprietor Vicky’s son Alfie Joe.

- Tuesday – Friday – 10am – 5:30pm
- Saturday – 9am – 3pm
- CLOSED Mondays
