THE QUEEN’S DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS in Hedon will be the town’s biggest celebration this year!
Market Hill will be the venue for the main celebrations on Monday 4th June 2012 in the early evening until late! Festive stalls and traditional hog roast will set the scene. A local band and dance group will perform, there will be competitions for the family and a very hotly contested tug-of-war competition between teams from different local pubs.
The town beacon will be lit and a firework display is being organised.
The last time we had something to celebrate on this scale, leading to the Town Beacon being lit, was in 2010 when the Town hosted Yorkshire Day – however, the Jubilee Celebration looks likely to be a bigger and an even more enjoyable affair.
We have had a countdown to the Big Day taking place on the Hedon Blog all month – and we hope to bring you more information about the events taking place as the Town Council publishes this.
