Yorkshire Water Smells – Angry East Hull residents form Facebook campaign group

8:07 am

FACEBOOK has galvanised hundreds of Hull and Holderness residents into an online campaign against Yorkshire Water’s foul stinks.

The odours from the Waste Water Treatment Works at Saltend have sickened residents and prompted angry comments from neighbours and friends. This conversation has also materialised on Facebook where East Hull residents have set up a campaigning group.

Over 440 people have already joined the Facebook Group Yorkshire water needs to sort the smell out and residents are already talking about a campaign of non-payment of waterbills (or the sewage element of the waterbill) until Yorkshire Water gets the odours eliminated.

With calls for a march and protests at the Saltend site and campaigning groups being set up, this looks like being a massive campaign bringing together residents in Hull and Holderness.

The petition has already attracted hundreds of signatures and individuals are getting their neighbours and friends to sign. They have been printed off from this website and placed in shops and pubs across Hull and Holderness.

If you do have petitions in your shop or pub then please download our simple poster (see picture) to let people know. There are other campaign resources available at Campaign Resources.
