THE DIGITAL TV SWITCHOVER is taking place. The existing TV signal will be switched off and replaced with a new, stronger digital TV signal.
Research done by DigitalUK does indicate that nine-out-of-10 homes in the area have gone digital but thousands of viewers still need to get ready or risk having a blank screen!
The dates to remember in this area are:
WEDNESDAY 3rd AUGUST - Engineering work takes place and service is expected to be resumed at 6:00am. If you have Freeview, BT Vision or Top Up TV you’ll need to re-tune your equipment after this time. BBC 2 will go to digital and some new digital channels become available. This means that if you haven’t switched, you’ll lose BBC 2.
WEDNESDAY 17th AUGUST – Service is expected to be restored by 6:00am. All the remaining analogue channels will switch to digital and the remaining digital channels will become available. Again, you’ll need to re-tune your equipment after this time. If you haven’t switched to digital, you will lose all of your TV service.
