Support BP RUFC Charity Fun Day – The Miracle of Smiles!

THIS BEAUTIFUL LITTLE GIRL is full of smiles – but she never nearly survived to delight us with these!

Eva Rose Lindop was born on Friday, 17th December 2010. Following a series of fits she was rushed into Hull Royal and then at only three days old to Leeds General Infirmary where she had a 3-hour operation to remove a blood hemorrhage from the brain.

Following intensive care she was sent home on Thursday 23rd December, and as the smile tells us, she appears to have made a fabulous recovery.

Proud Hedon Grandad Jim Lindop has shared this story with us to encourage people to attend the (click link for details) Charity Fun Day at the BP Rugby Union Football Club ground at Eastside, Saltend on Saturday 9th July 2011 from 2pm.

Money raised at this family friendly event will go towards the Paediatric High Dependency Unit at Hull Royal Infirmary and the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Leeds.

Support this event – help both hospital units to continue to provide little miracles like they did for Eva!

New Hall planning application – Holiday lets

THE RED-BRICKED “NEW HALL” on the corner of Fletchergate and Sheriff Highway, a Grade II listed building, is the subject of planning applications to turn an outbuilding into five holiday lets.

This would seem to be an appropriate use for such an old and historic building considering the potential for Hedon to become more of a tourist destination. Apparently the upkeep of the building has cost the current owner an estimated £300,000 over the last 12 years – so holiday lets will generate a useful sustainable income whilst maintaining the character of the building.

The applications to convert the building are currently being considered by the East Riding Council.
