Hedon ‘Mayor Making’ Meeting – Who will be the next Hedon Mayor?

HEDON TOWN COUNCIL holds its Annual Meeting tomorrow (Thursday 19th May 2011) when the new town Mayor and Deputy will be elected by Councillors and invested with the Mayoral Robes and Chain of Office.

It is not clear at this stage who the 664th Mayor of Hedon will be. The next in line for Mayor was due to be David Thompson – but he did not get elected in the recent elections on Thursday 5th May.

The first  public act of the new Mayor is usually the traditional ‘Penny Throwing’ ceremony from the steps of the Town Hall.

The  Town Council meeting starts at 6:45pm so the first public sighting of the new Mayor is likely to be around 7:15pm.
