“CHEERS!” was the only item of business at a special Hull and Holderness Opposes the Incinerator (HOTI) last Friday night.

The special meeting was held to celebrate the scrapping of the plans to build a Waste Incinerator at Saltend. “It was a day we were in doubt would ever arrive – but it has!” said Jim Uney who sent in this photograph.

Whilst not all the key committee members and active campaigners are pictured, it is good to be able to put faces to the HOTI heroes of the hour! The town should be proud of those who stood and fought the incinerator over 5 long years. The Hedon Blog raises a toast to them – Cheers!

The only real mystery of the campaign remaining is… How do you pronounce HOTI? Is it “hoh-tee” or is it “hot-tee” – perhaps we will never really know! 🙂
